Oreo barfi

I shared a Biscoff Barfi recipe before. Using the same base recipe I have swapped the Biscoff Biscuit for Oreo biscuits. This quick and easy recipe is perfect to make your own mithai.

Ingredients:
1 tsp melted ghee
1 cup milk powder - 95g
1/2 cup double cream - 105g
1/2 cup Oreo crumbs - 50g (6 Oreo biscuits, creme removed)
1/4 cup sugar - 40g
1/4 tsp cardamom powder
Method
Add the ghee into a pan on medium heat followed by the milk powder and double cream. Mix everything well until the mixture becomes smooth. Mix continously as you do not want the mixture to burn.
The mixture should thicken as it comes together. Then add in the sugar and mix throughly. The sugar will melt and make the mixture become less thick. Mix continously to allow the sugar to completely melt into the mixture. Cook for 2 minutes to allow the mixture to thicken slightly. It should resemble melted chocolate.
Add in the cardamon powder and mix well. Once the cardamon powder is evenly distributed add in the Oreo crumbs biscuit crumbs and mix well. Once all the Oreo biscuit crumbs have been mixed in place the mixture onto a plate to allow to cool.
Once the mixture has cooled slightly (not fully) you can mould these into shapes. I am using a modak mould for this. You can also mould these into balls with your hand or spread in a shallow dish and cut into squares once cooled.
If you're using a mould like me add the slightly cooled down mixture into the mould making sure you push the mixture all the way in. Once the mould is full open it open and remove the Oreo barfi out carefully so you don't alter the shape. Place on a plate or baking tray and allow to sit.
The Oero barfi will harden after around an hour. This homemade Oreo barfi is simple to make and delicious to eat. Store in an air-tight container and enjoy for Diwali or any other occasion.
