Kheer

Kheer is an Indian rice pudding dish. Creamy and delicious. Here's how I make it.

Indian rice pudding recipe kheer

Ingredients:

3 cups full fat milk

1/4 cup washed rice (I used basmati)

1/2 cup sugar

1/4-1/2 tsp cardamon powder (or to taste)


Method

In a pan add the milk and bring this to a boil. Then allow the milk to simmer on a low heat for 20 mintues. The milk will reduce slightly. Then add in the washed rice and mix gently into the milk.

Leave to simmer on a low heat until the rice is cooked. Around 15 mintues. Once the rice is cooked add in the sugar and mix until the sugar is dissolved.

Then add in the cardamon powder and mix through. You can add other spices at this stage.

Your lightly spiced Kheer is now ready to serve. This can be eaten both hot or cold. Enjoy!
